Of utmost interest there is an ongoing European research project called Credits4Health (C4H) where than 3000 participants of three European countries (Spain, Italy and Greece) are expected. Credits4health is a social innovation and health promotion project aimed at designing, developing, and testing a preventive healthcare system to reduce sedentary behaviours, enhance the level of physical activity, and foster the adoption of healthy dietary styles in people living in the Euro-Mediterranean Countries.
The approach is based on an ICT platform aimed at stimulating people to become more physically active and follow a Mediterranean diet, by means of personalized paths based on their existing behaviours and their medical, psychological, and social background. People will set their own nutritional and physical activity goals, and be provided with evidence-based tools, suggestions and social support to reach these goals, by enhancing their knowledge and motivation, helping them plan and monitor their activities, and clearing the social and psychological barriers that prevent the adoption of healthier lifestyles.
